At the Zoo

From time to time, Dawn will ring me and Amanda up to see if we have time to help her take some kid's out. Depending on the temperature, sometimes we take them to the pool, zoo or indoor kid's play centre. Dawn is an American who has been in Romania for some time and has good relations with the people who work at one of the Children centres here in Timisoara. They allow her to take some of the kids out every so often when Dawn can. The kid's love it.

Me and some friends at Jen's and Adi's Wedding......Kell came down for the wedding hadn't seen her since she moved north so was great to see her again. Some new girls I'm getting to know who live in the Girls Home and who's horses i occassionaly ride and aventually will be able to teach the girls to also. Their English is so good, its sooo nice to be able to comunicate and get to know some local younger girls and their views on life.

Adi and Jen's Wedding

Team member's Adi and Jen, were married on the 13th September. At 2pm we were invited to join the car honking trail to pick up Jen. Every Saturday in the Summer there are car's honking down the streets and today the cars were us as we followed Adi to pick up Jen from her home to take her to the wedding. Was a small drive out of town, and a really nice place. Photos were taken first followed by the ceromony. Then inbetween the many course of meals there were oportunities for songs, speaches, and a bit of dancing at the end. Was lovely, Jen had family and a few friends come from Australia to be there with her. She and her parents lived in Wee Waa for a few years and as it happens also know of a few distant reletives of mine who also live there. Jen has a very creative family, the dress was made by her sister and the jewelry by her mother. Tyler played a guitar peice with one of his students from the girls home who he teaches guitar to. Jen also suprised Adi with a few songs. The tradition here is for the bride or groom to be "stolen" sometime during the night. Jen was stolen and the deal to get her back was for Adi to preform one of Jen's favorite magic tricks for the kids.

Iarniva

Iarniva is a village 15km out of Timisoara, and where some friends are building a home for homeless boys. The building has alot of work to be done before finished, but for now a small animal farm is developing. A sheep, cows, donkeys, horses, dogsssss, and kittens live there for now. Today I went out with my friend Andreea, who wants to lean to ride, to go and work with horses. Was great, nice to get out of the city and hang around cute goofy animals like the sheep that acts half human half dog =) Today we rode both horses then gave them a bath.

Muffin thief!

And the brown cows.

This is Jenny she is almost 3 years old and is my new project for the automn. I hope to go out to ride her often to keep her rideable and fit for the girls at the girls home to learn to ride on. She is a quick learner and shes got a cute personality, me and Andreea love her. Jenny has a boyfriend, Brian, who is the most umberlieavably stuborn horse i have ever tryed to ride..... pride is a real issue in his life right now!!!!(cant let him win!) But yay for Jenny, she is sweet =)

Best buddies. cute, aye!

My own personal window fireworks =)

The weekends are usually full of weddings and tonight someone decided to celebrate near the building outside my window. So got to watch them nice and close. Good thing i hadn't decided to have an early night, as it sounded like world war 3.
